Gold - Platinum - Palladium - Mokume Gane
This photo shows my favorite quality of platinum. My customers agree: brazing platinum at 3200° Fahrenheit is not an everyday boring experience.
Platinum's high melting temperature allows us to "solder inlay" high-karat golds into a platinum wedding band to form subtle patterns. Platinum is a little more difficult to work with, but not enough to discourage its use among my customers.
The platinum we use in the studio is a 950 alloy with Ruthenium. We can also make pure platinum wedding rings from bullion coins.
