The rush fee covers the extra work involved to arrange a workshop on short notice. It is not a "penalty."
Out of courtesy for my schedule, please book at least two weeks in advance when possible, preferrably six weeks.
Occasionally, it is easier for me to schedule a workshop fewer than two weeks in advance. I of course do not charge a fee in these circumstances. |

I have to do a lot of work behind the scenes to make your experience run smoothly. Some examples are:
- precious metals & stones are ordered for each individual project
- an entire day must be cleared from my schedule
- specialty tools are sometimes purchased
- occasionally stones and metals that don't meet my quality standards are returned and reordered.
- design work must be done for custom rings
While I usually give priority to workshop customers over custom orders, the later a client books, the more re-arranging of my schedule must take place in order to accommodate that client.
Occasionally, people find me less than two weeks before they plan to propose or get married. I am usually happy to do so, but understand that it takes more effort to accommodate such requests.
For customers who are researching their options, PLEASE set a deadline of a minimum of two weeks before your preferred workshop date to make a decision. I would much rather plan your ring workshop in a timely manner than charge a rush fee.
